Jon Friedman


Jon FriedmanDr. Jon Friedman is the industry marketing manager for aerospace and defense and the automotive industry at MathWorks. Jon leads the marketing effort to foster industry adoption of MathWorks products and Model-Based Design. Prior to joining MathWorks, Jon worked at Ford Motor Company, where he held positions in areas ranging from software development research to electrical systems product development. Jon has also worked as an independent consultant on projects for Delphi, General Motors, Chrysler, and the U.S. Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command. Jon holds a B.S.E., M.S.E., and Ph.D. in aerospace engineering and an M.B.A., all from the University of Michigan.

Will Campbell


Will CampbellWill joined MathWorks in 2007. He previously worked at The Aerospace Corporation as the chief architect of the Atlas V closed-loop 6DOF simulation and winds safety verification laboratory. Will holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in aerospace engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. His coursework specialized in control systems, numerical methods, orbital dynamics, and earth sciences, and he completed an interplanetary navigation model for his thesis.

Dave Forstot


Dave ForstotBefore joining MathWorks in 2006, Dave worked as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine doing computational neuroscience. He previously worked for Signature Research, Inc., a D.O.D. contractor, as a software engineer focusing on visible and infrared signature prediction and management, as well as database design and Web management. David holds a B.S. in computer science and a B.E. in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He also has a strong background in biochemistry.

Carlos Osorio


Carlos OsorioCarlos specializes in automatic control systems and vehicle dynamics. Before joining MathWorks in 2007, he worked in the automotive industry in the Advanced Chassis Technology Department at Visteon Corporation, where he was involved in the development and implementation of prototype electronic active and semi-active suspensions and steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems for passenger vehicles. Carlos received a B.S. from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and an M.S. from the University of California at Berkeley, both in mechanical engineering.

Timothy Reeves


Timothy ReevesBefore joining MathWorks in 2008, Tim worked for 10 years in the commercial wireless and aerospace and defense microwave market sectors, where he did design and development of passive RF and microwave products. Tim has used MATLAB for modeling 3D resonant structures that resonate at microwave frequencies. Two particular structures modeled using MATLAB have since been approved for patents. Tim has also authored refereed papers in the area of network synthesis for asymmetric analog passive filters. Tim has a B.S. electrical and computer engineering and an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Tim’s thesis project was measuring the dielectric properties of materials at microwave frequencies using a cavity perturbation technique.
