Why does the date format change in MATLAB using XLSREAD in MATLAB 7.1 (R14SP3)?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have created a file in Excel, where one of the columns is a date in 24-hour notation. When I import it into MATLAB, the date is now in an am/pm format.

The ability to import dates in 24-hour format from Excel is not available in MATLAB 7.1 (R14SP3). XLSREAD in MATLAB 7.1 (R14SP3) converts 24-hour date format to am/pm format while reading from Excel to MATLAB.
As a workaround, you can use the DATESTR function to convert the date to any desired date format.
