Overview
“All models are wrong, but some are useful” – George E. P. Box, "Science and Statistics," Journal of the American Statistical Association in 1976
The challenge? Getting to a useful model often feels too labor-intensive for faster projects and programs.
In this session, we’ll show how MATLAB and Simulink can help you overcome this challenge. We’ll first explore the wide range of modeling methods across MathWorks’ tools, from ready-to-run platform-specific models to bringing-your-own equations. We’ll then show how you can make any of these models more accurate for your specific application by taking advantage of existing data you may already have – whether it’s from fielded systems, prototype testing, or high-fidelity and slow-running tools like CFD.
Highlights
- Importing test data, as well as preprocessing techniques for parameter estimation
- A brief overview of modeling methods in MATLAB and Simulink
- Running optimization-based parameter estimation to make models better match test data
- Using tuned and verified models for further simulation-based testing
