The Engineering Development Group (EDG) is a key leadership development program in MathWorks, enabling successful candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds multiple opportunities to develop and demonstrate their skills for a rewarding career. 

Specifically, team members in the EDG for Technical Sales program will develop additional skills (leadership and technical), working on projects with MathWorks Sales teams. Opportunities include aligning MathWorks solutions with customer needs, increasing the adoption of MathWorks tools, maximizing the value for customers, and delivering revenue growth.EDG team members receive mentoring and coaching that supports a longer-term career development pathway to a commercial role in MathWorks Sales organization. 

Please note: this role provides a path to EMEA Inside Sales. It is not an Application/Sales Engineer role.  MathWorks Inside Sales team in Europe is based in Galway, Ireland(supporting EMEA) and you would be required to relocate. 

Responsibilities

As a member of the EDG for Technical Sales program, you will engage with customers from some of the world’s most exciting engineering companies. You will gain insight into their business as well asa deeper understanding of MathWorks’ suite of products. More specifically, you will:

  • Connect with customers on complex technical issues in MATLAB, Simulink, and other MathWorks products.  This is designed to sharpen your technical skills to better understand our platforms and how to leverage them when engaging with customers.  
  • Collaborate with Sales and technical colleagues to identify and solve our customers’ technical and business challenges. 
  • Effectively turn qualified leads into opportunities and prospects into happy customers.  
  • Develop and demonstrate leadership skills through opportunities to show initiative, lead process improvements, as well as coach and mentor others. 
  • Benefit from extensive learning opportunities through training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing forums.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. 
  • Strong academic record  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills 
  • Highly responsive, and collaborative 
  • Strong interest in commercial activities including sales and account management is required 
  • Programming skills in MATLAB 
  • Prior commercial/sales experience is a plus 
  • Fluency in an additional language is a plus
