We are seeking a technical expert to shape the way companies develop complex systems through Model-Based Design.

Leveraging your industry experience and technical expertise, you'll provide solutions and offer sound recommendations to enhance customers' development cycles using MathWorks products. You will spend most of your time collaborating with customers who develop models for algorithm design across a wide range of applications including supervision, controls, perception, situational analysis, diagnostics or predictive maintenance.

As a pre-sales engineer, you will partner with sales representatives and play a key role in understanding customers' workflows, uncovering technical and business obstacles in their processes, building convincing proofs-of-concept, and driving technical engagements.

Through these efforts, you will contribute to how the industry and customers perceive MathWorks and champion the impact of industry trends on MathWorks product development plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with key companies, researchers, and influencers in the embedded systems segment
  • Deeply engage with and establish strong relationships with key customers.
  • Define and drive proof-of-concept projects.
  • Establish technical procedures and project roadmaps to solve complex deployment problems.
  • Collaborate directly with sales teams to identify sales and product adoption opportunities.
  • Work closely with development teams to drive product enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and experience (7+ years) in embedded systems development, ideally in the field of robotics and autonomous systems
  • Understanding of software development workflows, from requirements to verification through design, implementation and testing.
  • Experience with MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, V&V, code generation)
  • Knowledge of robotics and 3D simulation tools (ROS, Gazebo, RT Maps, IPG CarMaker).
  • Experience and motivation in supporting sales and engaging with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal development processes.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-40% of the time.
