MathWorks is seeking an engineer with experience and interest in areas of Model-based design, controls development, physical modelling, digital twin & embedded software to join our consulting group.
Consultants assist our customers in the application of MATLAB, Simulink, and related products. This position requires a unique combination of skills and abilities including:

  • Understanding customers' development processes and engineering challenges
  • Designing, explaining and implementing solutions to meet customers' requirements
  • Establishing and maintaining strong technical relationships with key customers
  • Cultivate consulting business and drive adoption of MATLAB, Simulink and related products
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently

Our goal is to work hands-on with our customers in the energy, automotive, aerospace and embedded controls industries to ensure customer success

Responsibilities

Generate excitement, confidence, and passion for the usage of Model-Based Design including MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape, Simulink Coder, Embedded Coder, and verification tools in complex production programs. Serve as the primary advisor to select customers and provide technical assistance from short questions and answers to detailed execution plans. Partner closely with sales teams and other customer-facing staff focused on a fast-paced and continually evolving strategy for the successful adoption of tools for deployments.

  • Consulting project management - maintaining task lists, budget tracking, customer interaction, resource estimating, and job size estimating
  • Consulting project execution - the technical application of MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape, code generation and V&V techniques to assist customers in a variety of engineering disciplines
  • Consulting sales - interact with sales staff and customers to sell our services and manage customer expectations
  • Consulting field data - giving feedback to product development and interact directly with product development staff to resolve tough customer issues and identify new product features

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • 5+ years of automotive, aerospace, or related industry field experience in areas of Model-based design (model development, V&V, code generation), control systems development, physical modelling (data-driven or first principle) and/or Digital Twin.
  • Hands-on expertise in modeling in Simulink / Stateflow / Simscape, code generation and verification technologies or similar products
  • Strong knowledge of C is required.
  • Expertise in data analytics, data science, statistics & machine learning would be a plus
  • Algorithm design and development of software tools for engineering and/or scientific applications, preferably using Object Oriented programming techniques would be a plus
  • Proven analytical skills and customer-facing experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel up to 30%
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR and functional safety (ISO 26262, DO 178, IEC 61508, etc.) would be plus but not mandatory
