Principal Wireless Engineer

Job Summary

MathWorks is seeking a dynamic engineer with a background in wireless communication standards to work with our experienced team developing software to simulate the physical layer protocols of multiple wireless communication standards. You will also write models for waveform generation and receiver algorithms, including MIMO techniques, channel models and advanced receivers. This position requires a range of skills including:

MATLAB physical layer modelling of 5G and NTN systems

Knowledge of receiver techniques and MIMO systems

Familiarity with wireless channel modelling

Designing, implementing and testing of software products

Developing demos illustrating different use cases of our wireless simulation products

Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues worldwide

Responsibilities

  • Develop physical layer simulation models in MATLAB and Simulink
  • Understand customer workflows and industry practices to develop the best tools for the job
  • Work through the development cycle for each feature: gather requirements by engaging with customers and customer-facing engineers, design the feature by interacting with MathWorks development teams, code, debug and test new features and incorporate into our product’s codebase
  • Develop examples showcasing the best practices for using our tools

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Experience with MATLAB
  • Expertise with communications systems
  • Knowledge of Wireless Communications

Additional Qualifications

Knowledge of wireless communication standards such as: LTE, 5G, NTN

Programming experience in C/C++

Knowledge of UNIX or Mac environments

Familiar with Simulink
