Job Summary
MathWorks is seeking an engineer with experience in cellular network modelling to develop tools for 5G, and upcoming 6G systems. You will leverage your software development skills to design and develop world-class modeling and simulation software, participate in high-visibility projects, leverage new technologies, and participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop cellular network modeling tools in MATLAB, with a focus on Layer 3 (RRM, RRC) and AI/ML-driven features.
- Incorporate new 3GPP standards for RAN and core network simulations.
- Leverage agentic AI tools to speed-up development and optimize algorithms.
- Understand customer workflows and industry practices for cellular network modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience developing Layer 3 protocols within the 5G RAN or core network.
- Experience applying AI and ML techniques to optimize 5G network functions, including RAN and core network.
- Strongly desired experience in any of the cellular network simulation tools such as, OAI, Simu5G and ns3.
- Proficient in MATLAB or Python.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues worldwide.
