Description

The Variable-Ratio Transformer block implements a discrete, variable-ratio, two-winding ideal transformer.

When you use a Variable-Ratio Transformer, set the powergui block Simulation type to Discrete. The robust discrete solver is used to discretize the electrical model.

Equations

The voltage ratio between windings 1 and 2 is determined by the input signal, N, such that:

N=N2N1,

where:

  • N1 is the voltage at winding 1.

  • N2 is the voltage at winding 2.

Assumptions and Limitations

  • Windings cannot be unconnected.
