SimMechanics: problem with Mechanics Explorer on Mac OS X Mavericks with Matlab 2013a

Hello,
I would like to use SimMechanics second generation to build a model of a mechanical structure. The modeling process works perfectly but, when I want to simulate it, the Mechanics Explorer window fails to open and freezes the Matlab application.
An error message is displayed: exception in thread awt-eventqueue-0
I am using Matlab 2013a on Mac OSX Mavericks (v. 10.9.3) and uses the built-in Java 1.6 JRE.
Is there a solution to solve that issue?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers. /DC

Hi Didier,
May I ask you some questions?
1. Did you try to re-install Java?
2. Does the error message appear on MATLAB command window?
3. Is it the whole error message? If not, could you provide the whole message?
Thanks,
Xing
