What are possible reasons for the EtherCAT init to fail in r2014b but be working in r2013b

Hello,
I just upgraded our current robot control to r2014b (from r2013b). Clearly there were changes in the EtherCat libraries, I had to manually replace all 80+ Rx and Tx blocks. I did also replace the Init block, but since the Ethercat network did not change used the same Ethercat config xml-file and also the same Ethernet card.
I did also check the 'log and debugging' to 'c:\dbglog.txt'. However, there is not log being created on the xpcTarget.
However, in r2014b on starting model excecution, the xpcTarget just loses connection to the host, and hangs up - without any error message. The only error message is from the host - losing connection to the target. the xpcTarget does not answer until restart.
If you have any hints or upgrade changes in the Ethercat Library would be helpful.
best Nicolas
