Simulink: Why does the label text disappear from view while I edit it?

Simulink Ver 8.8: When I select text on a drawing for editing, it disappears and is replaced with a box. The box changes size as I edit blind. Then the text reappears when I am done. This does not happen when using another computer with the same design file. How do I fix it?

For me a restart of the computer solved the problem.

In Simulink 9.2 (2018b), closing the file and re-openning the file cleared the problem...this time.

I created this file by copying blocks over from a previous file of (probably) an older version of Simulink. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the source of the problem.

This problem has been around for awhile. Why has no one from Mathworks jumped on this? It's a pain in the rear.
