Calling a DLL created from Simulink Coder

I have created a Win32 DLL from a Simulink diagram using Simulink Coder and the template ert_shrlib.tlc. I need to specify to another group how to interface and call the function.
I can specify the mapping of Inputs and outputs, but I'm wondering which C-functions to call. I would think calling the MDL_initialize function once and the MDL_step function each time would work. Am I on the right track? thanks!!!

Yes, you need to call mdl_initialize once in beginning, mdl_step in for each sample (perhaps in a loop), and mdl_terminate in the end. See the example here for more information.
