How can i limit my joint blocks or certain distances?

Hello, I have the following issue: I want to limit my joints in Simulink Multibody to certain angles or certain point to be limited in their distance to one another. I have seen that perople have already asked this question but i didn't really understand the answer. Can you maybe walk me through it, which blocks i should use? Thanks, Julia

Hi Julia,

In Simscape Multibody you can limit the range of travel of a joint using joint limits. A spring-damper force becomes active if the joint reaches a limit and acts to keep the joint in the range of travel you have specified.

Here is a screenshot of the settings in R2021a for the Revolute Joint. It will look similar for other joints. The blue boxes indicate where you need to click to open up the collapsed sections of the UI.
