How could I introduce a reject mechanism into a ECOC classifier?

For example, I want to reproduce the method in the following paper https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007%2F978-3-642-21557-5.pdf
How could get the prediced code of an input test observation through 'predict' command with a trained ECOC classifier?
I want to reject the negetiave sample using ECOC classifier, how can I do this?

Exactly, the paper is in page 217 to 226, called 'Two Stage Reject Rule for ECOC Classification Systems' in the link.
