Hello,
I am using MATLAB to simulate the stress concentration on a part but the result is always different than any other FE analysis tool (ansys or soildworks)
The maximum stress that I got from ansys was 5.739e7 and from solidworks 3.267e7 where as in MATLAB I got the value of max stress of order e4
Am I missing something very basic...???

Well, you've given us exactly nothing from which to guess how you computed anything in MATLAB or why it should compare to anything else.
I'd say if the results between ANSYS and SolidWorks are different by almost a factor of 2X your models there aren't all that close to each other, either.
