Zeta Converter
A Zeta Converter is a type of DC–DC converter that can either step up or step down the output voltage while maintaining the same polarity as the input.
Unlike the Ćuk converter, where the capacitor is the main energy transfer element, in a Zeta Converter the inductor acts as the main energy storage component. It uses a combination of two inductors (or a coupled inductor) and a capacitor to achieve energy transfer.Key Features:
- Non-inverting output → Output voltage has the same polarity as input.
- Step-up/Step-down capability → Can regulate output above or below the input voltage.
- Continuous current at both input and output → Reduces stress on components and improves efficiency.
- Applications → LED drivers, battery-powered systems, renewable energy systems, and other regulated DC supply needs.
Advantages:
- Provides a stable regulated DC output.
- Same polarity output makes it convenient for many practical applications.
- Smooth current flow reduces ripple.
