The MATLAB code involves procedure to find the feedback gain for linear quadratic regulator. The user is asked to input state space matrix and then using MATLAB function "LQR" the elements of feedback gain are found out.

Can you please explain why line 8 & 9 in your script are required? What is the need for converting state space model to transfer function and what exactly is "sys1" doing?
