Edge Detection Algorithm that combines the Total variation and Perona-Malik diffusivities.
Inspired by the weaknesses of the existing classical techniques, the authors have proposed an edge detection method that incorporates a hybrid diffusion-steered functional derived from the Total variation and the Perona-Malik diffusivities as part of the pre-processing step for the segmentation of diabetic foot ulcer images.
