Closed loop chopper controlled DC motor drive
Designing a four quadrant chopper-controlled DC drive to drive a 5 hp, 1750 rpm, 240 V DC
motor with a rated field voltage of 150 V.Implementing a closed-loop cascaded control system (speed controller as the outer loop and current controller as the inner loop) in SimPowerSystems.The performance of the design is presented under different conditions such as (but not limited to)
(i) Starting of the motor.
(ii) Changing speed reference.
(iii) Changing load torque
