Looking for Summer 2024 JavaScript developer intern.
Duration: 3 months (begins mid-July 2024).

As part of the Editor team, you will develop state-of-the-art software for MATLAB’s web-based editor. You will work closely with the Engineering, QE, and Usability teams while designing, implementing, and qualifying new features.

This position requires someone who has an eye for detail and is passionate about building tools using AI technologies and web technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.

Responsibilities

After training on MathWorks products and software development processes, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Development of a GUI for the MATLAB Live Editor which supports the conversion of TeX formulas to MATLAB code using AI technologies. GUI development as well as the development of AI techniques for the conversion belong to your responsibilities.
  • Document the design for your features
  • Implement and unit-test primarily using JavaScript
  • Respond to code review feedback
  • Present your work to the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's level degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience with HTML5
  • Expertise with CSS
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in Germany or be able to obtain work authorization with an internship offer.

Additional Qualifications

  • Starting last two years of bachelor or starting master studies in a Computer Science or Mathematics degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with a JavaScript toolkit (e.g., dojo).
  • Familiarity with MATLAB is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI systems, e.g., ChatGPT, is a plus.
  • 3 months full-time commitment
