MathWorks is seeking an engineer with technical experience and interest in embedded systems such as FPGA and SoC especially for signal processing, radar, and communication systems. You will partner with our most innovative customers to establish MATLAB and Simulink as a platform for a variety of application areas including:

  • Signal Processing, Radar, and Communication System design
  • HDL(VHDL/Verilog) code generation and verification
  • Prototyping and implementing designs on FPGAs and SoCs

You will work with our customers to identify and understand their technical and business challenges. You will drive technical engagements that enable our customers to attain their goals by adopting MathWorks solutions. You will also engage strategically with customers in developing long-term adoption plans that will enable them to progressively roll-out increasingly productive workflows in their organizations.

Using your technical expertise as well as your excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, you will engage customers and prospects to develop a shared vision for success.

The location for this position is in MathWorks’ office in Tokyo.

Responsibilities

As a technical member of the sales team, you will be responsible for interacting with prospective customers, generating excitement, confidence, and passion for the usage of MathWorks tools within their organization for whole workflow from algorithm exploration to deployment.

  • Lead engagements with customers by presenting MathWorks’ tools capabilities, vision, and lead them by defining technical proof of concept projects and driving them forward
  • Work closely with sales and other customer-facing staff to provide technical guidance for successful adoption of MathWorks tools
  • Build instant credibility in front of customers by leveraging the industry experience and serve as a primary advisor to select customers for technical engagement
  • Increase awareness of MathWorks' tools capabilities by delivering marketing events such as public seminars, webinars
  • Advocate for the future direction of MathWorks products based on customer interactions

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Expert level in HDL design and/or verification
  • Experience with embedded devices such as FPGAs and SoCs
  • Experience with related technologies including one or more of the following :
    Usage of ModelSim, AMD-Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus; performance trade-offs between resources, processing speed and power
  • Strong knowledge of Wireless, High-Speed Wired communications, or Radar impairments and algorithms such as:
    • Noise and Channel coding
    • Timing drift and Synchronization
    • Channel Estimation
    • Error Correction
  • Excellent spoken and written Japanese communication skills
  • Basic spoken and written communication English skills(TOEIC score 600+)
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to multi-task based upon frequently changing business opportunities and external demands
  • Periodic air and ground travel for customer presentations and planning discussions is required (up to %30)

  • Experience with C/C++ software development
  • Strong working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
  • Konwledge of wireless communications standards (LTE, 5G, 802.11)
  • Experience with RF simulation tools
  • Experience with lab & test equipment
