Founded in 1984, MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software. MATLAB and Simulink enable engineers and scientists worldwide to design and develop a wide range of advanced products, including autonomous and connected vehicles, aerospace flight control and avionics, telecommunications and other electronics equipment, industrial machinery and robots, and smart medical devices. The company’s guiding principle is to “do the right thing” for our staff members, customers, business partners, and communities for the long term.
MathWorks has two offices in China—Beijing and Shanghai—with more than 100 employees in total. Both offices are conveniently located near transportation links, abundant restaurants and entertainment centers, and many other urban amenities.

MathWorks Beijing is close to many Fortune 500 headquarters, such as Daimler-Benz, Caterpillar, and Microsoft, as well as several technology R&D centers. Our Beijing office building sits directly atop a subway entrance, and we are only a short distance to the airport. Entrance to the Grand Wangjing Park is free and near the Beijing office, making noontime walks both convenient and enjoyable.
The Shanghai office is surrounded by dozens of notable high-tech and financial companies and the East Asia headquarters of a number of multinational banks. Employees in this location have easy access to the Bund, the Oriental Pearl, the Shanghai World Financial Center observatory deck, and the Bund tourist tunnel.
