Transport Properties Sensor (TL)

R2026b

Measure dynamic and kinematic viscosity, thermal conductivity, and Prandtl number in thermal liquid network

Since R2026a

  • Transport Properties Sensor (TL) block

Libraries:
Simscape / Foundation Library / Thermal Liquid / Sensors

Description

The Transport Properties Sensor (TL) block represents an ideal sensor that measures the dynamic and kinematic viscosity, thermal conductivity, and Prandtl number in a thermal liquid network. There is no mass or energy flow through the sensor.

The block measures these properties at the node connected to port A.

Ports

Output

expand all

Physical signal output port that measures the dynamic viscosity.

Dependencies

To enable this port, select the Dynamic viscosity check box.

Programmatic Use

Port: mu

Physical signal output port that measures the kinematic viscosity.

Dependencies

To enable this port, select the Kinematic viscosity check box.

Programmatic Use

Port: nu

Physical signal output port that measures the thermal conductivity.

Dependencies

To enable this port, select the Thermal conductivity check box.

Programmatic Use

Port: k

Physical signal output port that measures the Prandtl number.

Dependencies

To enable this port, select the Prandtl number check box.

Conserving

expand all

Thermal liquid conserving port. Connect this port to the node in the thermal liquid network where you want to measure the transport properties. All measurements are taken with respect to absolute zero.

Programmatic Use

Port: A
