how to plot on axes2 of figure 2?

i have 2 windows: MainForm and Results on the MainForm have button 1. on the Result have axes1 and axes2 how i can creat plot in axes2 when press button1?

i am try : x=1:1:20; y=x.^2; plot(handles.axes2,x,y);

but it dont work. (
