length of forehead of a person

Hello all, I am currently working some project in which i need to calculate the length of forehead in the face of a person is a part. I took the BW of the image, but how to calculate the max(lenth of white pixels between 2 black pixels) which actually gives the length of the forehead. Thanks in advance

You can calculate the number of pixels, but you will need to find a way to relate that number of pixels to a physical distance.

Yup, thanx for the suggestion, did the same by working on BW image pixel by pixel and was able to achieve the objective!

You could use any() to get that info on a column-by-column basis across the blob, or you could pass your binary image into bwconncomp and regionprops to get the bounding box of the blob.
