Reading GPS NEMA data via serial port

Hello I have problem reading GPS NEMA output. i want to read it real time via serial port input block in the simulimk. when i connect the TX port of the receiver to the RX port of the PC nothing appears. I think this is becuase that the input serial block of simulink does not support the format of NEMA data . any idea? thanks
