Video analysis, speed of a object in a video

Hello everybody,

I've got a video with a moving object in it. it is only one object in the video. for example a ping pong ball which rolls...

now i want to know the speed of the moving ball.

I'm new to mathlab and have no special experiences with video analyzing

i would be happy about any kind of idea.
