Video analyzing , Speed of a moving object

Hello everybody,

I'm new to mathlab but I've got a task to do concerning video analyzing.

I've got a video with one moving object in it. For example a rolling ping pong ball. My task is, to calculate the speed of the ball.

I've heard that there is a function called DOF (difference of frames?) which I can use to analyze the video.

I would be happy about any kind of idea. Maybe there is a tutorial which describes a problem like this?
