Why is MATLAB continuously asking me to activate when launched?

3 views (last 30 days)
Matlab is continuously asking me to activate when I am trying to launch
cd /usr/local/MATLAB/R2014a/bin
User@User-Inspiron-N5010:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2014a/bin$ sudo ./matlab
What is the solution for this problem ?
Am I supposed to get a new license file?
If so can you please send me one
Thanks

Best you ask this of MathWorks Customer Service (‘Request Support’ in the ‘RESOURCES’ area of the toolstrip above the Command Window).
Run ver from the Command Window first so you have your license number and the results of ver if necessary.

In my experience that has happened when its not able to locate the license file. You may already have it though.
If you are working at a company or school, often there is a daily update utility on your computer that runs upon start up and provides the student or employee with some behind the scenes help that links your licenses.
If you have a daily update utility, try re-running it, and opening matlab again.

I am working at a school and I have asked them for matlab software and they provided me with instructions to download, Install and activate.Should I ask them regarding this daily update utility or ask them for a new license.
