Plot an equation with a range

I am a beginner in Matlab and would really appreciate an explanation on how to do this in laymans terms.

Try this
v = linspace(-100, 50, 1000);
Then plug that v into the formulas that need it. Like
alpham = (0.1 * (v + 40)) ./ (1 - exp(-0.1 * (v + 40)));
betam = 4 * exp(-0.0556 *.............)
m = alpham / (alpham + betam)
and so on.
