Having problems with real time windows target toolbox on windows 8

When I generate the code using real time toolbox everything seems to work. But when I try to start the simulation in external mode, simulation time freezes at 0. I am running R2014a on Windows 8.1. Same happens with R2013b on Windows 8.1

Is this something specific to your model?

Please try one of the examples in the toolbox, listed here:

And let us know if the External Mode is working on this model.
