Combine subsystems in Simulink with continuous and discrete states

I would like to combine two subsystems, one with continuous states, the other with discrete ones. The discrete subsystem provides inputs for the continuous one, and viceversa. I am trying to use "Zero Hold" and "Rate Transition"; in this case how can I set different solver for each subsystems? Thanks in advance.

You can not set a different solver for each subsystem. The solver is defined at the model level and applies to all subsystems in the model. For your case, no solver is needed for the discrete subsystem so the solver you define at the model level will be used for your continous time subsystem.
