Can I use TCP/IP send on one machine and receive on the other to stream data between 2 simulink programs?

I am trying to run a simulation remotely. As a first step, I am trying to use TCP/IP to send to remote machine. This is successful and the ip/port are verified. However on the receiving machine, I find no data output, and I cannot connect to the port on the sending machine. Resource seems hard to come by on this.
