There are several features (e.g. built-in support for RDP) in Ubuntu 22.04 (the latest LTS version) that I would like to use on the workstation I use for MATLAB/Simulink. When can I expect MATLAB/Simulink to support this release?

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is not listed on the Platform Road Map. Therefore as far as I'm aware we have not announced when or if this OS would be supported. That being said, the Linux System Requirements page does state that "It is likely that other distributions with Linux kernel version 3.10 or later and glibc version 2.17 or later can successfully run MATLAB and Simulink, but technical support will be limited."
If you wish to request that this OS be officially supported, I recommend you file an enhancement Service Request using this page asking for this support.

The system requirements page says Matlab supports 22.04 now, but Matlab code generation doesn't support gcc-11, the default compiler on 22.04, and the GPU coder only supports TensorRT7, which is not supported on 22.04.
So the 22.04 support seems to come with a lot of caveats
