Why do AppDesigner drop-down menus dissapear?

I have an AppDesigner app. It has many UI components on it. I am not using the grid layout for containment. It has been working well for several months as I developed it. I worked on it yesterday morning. I closed Matlab down and went to lunch. I came back and when AppDesigner opened up the project, all the drop-down components were invisible. There were also invisible "containers" that had a blue outline that would appear when I hovered my mouse over them. See screenshot below. The problem is that when I run the *.mlapp from the Matlab command line, there is no issue and everything displays and where it should. It is only when I bring it up in AppDesigner that it displays like this. Furthermore, when I bring it up in AppDesigner, something changes during the loading, and the asterisk next to the filename appears telling me it is not saved yet. So I believe the process of opening it in AppDesigner changes the layout and modifies it at the same time. I had to revert to an much older version than the very last save to recover to a previous version that did not have this problem. I have reinstalled Matlab to see if that was the issue, but it did not fix the issue. I also had someone else load it on their Matlab in AppDesigner, and they had the same issue. One of the points of AppDesigner was to move away from file corrupts the GUIDE. Please make this a high priority to figure out and fix so it cannot happen in the future. This caused me a day of delays during a time that is super time sensitive.

Try to resize the app window and see if they appear.
