Matlab 2017a not opening in Mac OS 14.2.1

Just like it says. I can't get Matlab 2017a to open in Mac OS 14.2.1. I see no nothing happening at all. There appears to response at all when I try to open Matlab, be it from the dock or from the Applications folder.

You are correct, MATLAB R2017b is too old to open on MacOS Sonoma.
If you try to open it directly, you will get a crash message.

No. You can have that license forever. It was your fault/choice that you changed the OS you will run it on. If you still had that old computer, running that old OS, no problem.
