How to download the older release R2024A of MATLAB for Linux (RHEL 9)?

Our organization is using R2024A. I would like to install the same on a RHEL 9 system. Where can I download the older release 2024A of MATLAB for Linux (RHEL 9)?

All versions of R2024a are supported on RHEL 9.

Thank you very much for your message. I knew that R2024A is supported on RHEL 9. I wanted to download Linux R2024A software to install it on a new RHEL 9 system. At the MATLAB download site, only R2024B and R2025A are available now. How can I download R2024A?

If older versions are not available for download, there are a couple of possibilities:

• you might not have a Mathworks license at all. However, if that were the case then you would not be eligible to test R2025a Pre-release.
• your MATLAB license might be through an institution that blocks you from downloading MATLAB. If so then you need to contact your IT support people

When I installed R2024b on this laptop (Ubuntu 22.04.05 LTS) recently, I first went to Download Products and then let the installer do everything.

There were a few problems --

The installer wanted to install to home/<my user name>/usr/local/MATLAB/R2024b and I let it. I should have specified only usr/local/MATLAB/R2024b that I will do with R2025a. You will need to specify usr/local/MATLAB/R2024a as the preferred path in the installer, first using sudo mkdir to create the dirextory. The installer cannot create it for you because it does not have superuser permission.

I believe after that everything went smoothly, although I may have needed to create another directory. (It's been a few months, ao I don't remember all the details. I will encounter this again in a few days when I install it on a new desktop.)

After that, everything worked. Have your user name (email address) and MathWorks password at hand during the installation process, since you will need them to complete the activation.

Linux will not create a desktop icon automatically, however when you open MATLAB (the easiest way to do this is to open Files and then right-click on matlab, select 'Open Item Location', then right-click on MATLAB and selecdt 'Run as a Program'.) That will start MATLAB and a MATLAB 'membrane' icon will appear in the taskbar. There may be other ways, including launching MATLAB from the terminal. What I described here works for me.
