calculate the value of H matix in its position

i have a 4*4 H matrix with zeros and one in it also a L matrix with real number value. i need to calculate the value using this equation E(i,j)=log(1+tanh(Li',j)/2)/(1-tanh(L i',j)/2) and i~=i'. i' represent the position of one's in H matrix. how do i calculate the value.
