Using Matlab coder for protecting blocks with power ports

Hi, I am new to Matlab-simulink. I am trying to protect a block that I am using in my project. I tried using Matlab coder. But, when I try to reference the model after protecting it, the referencing block does not recognize anything other than the signal ports. It would be really helpful if anyone can share their experience with matlab coder.
Thanks, Kumar

Using Simulink Coder would seem to make more sense than MATLAB Coder ?
What are you hoping that the block would be able to recognize? Communication with blocks is done through signals in Simulink.

"power ports" ? Are you using SimPower ?

By PMC_ports, do you mean ports with physical signals? If yes, model reference blocks do not support such signals at their boundaries. Perhaps you could consider converting them to a regular Simulink signal before outputting them from your block.

Sorry I don't have SimPower. My experience on model reference is with Simulink only.
