Distinguish colour (red,blue,green) with matlab function

Hi, I am doing a mini project about robot arm. This robot need to pick a object and arrange it in order based on object colour. Because I'm new in matlab, does anyone know the function to distinguish colour or how to programme it in matlab?

That famous dress: was it white or was it blue? Because if it was blue then it would have to be detectable as blue by the robot to be included with the other blue objects, whereas if it was white then it would go somewhere else in the order.
