What is the best technique for extracting tooth's contour from dental x-ray?

hi everyone i want to segment tooth in dental bite-wing image from bones and other Tissue and then extract contour feature for each tooth. Can any one have any idea, code, help? regard

You need to search the literature because there is no high level tooth extraction software in MATLAB. Go here: http://www.visionbib.com/bibliography/people937.html#Dental%20Identification,%20Dental%20Biometrics and find tons of papers like these:
