Problems to install matlab in windows 10?
Show older comments
Hi Matlab Community! I have activation key, but I cannot install Matlab in my windows 10. My laptop has 8GB ram, 2.4GHz intel Core i5 processor (64bit). When I was trying to install, it goes upto the step of configuring "Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable (x64)". After then, it disappears. I tried different versions of R2015b, R2015aSP1, R2015a with both 64bit & 32bit. How can I solve this problem?

Like we've said below several times, call the Mathworks for fast and free help. They can talk you through it and even set up a webex to let them see and drive your computer. We can't do that for you.

Did you download the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version? Is your Windows 10 32 bit or 64 bit?

@GHULAM ABBAS, welcome back to MATLAB after a 6 year absence. You should really consider using the latest version (unless your computer is only 32 bit) since many, many nice improvements have been made since then. That said, I think the Mathworks will still help you install it. Call them now before they head home for the weekend - you have maybe 7 or 8 more hours. Installation help is free, even for student versions. I know I said that in the comment just before yours, but will you please do that? If not, why not?
Did you click the setup.exe program? I find it very strange that setup would launch internet explorer instead of the MATLAB installer. Or did you click a zip file and it opened in Windows Explorer (a file management app, what Windows 10 now calls File Explorer), and not Internet Explorer (a browser program)? And then did you click setup.exe? I believe you might have to extract files from the zip file to actual files in a folder before you can run the setup program.

Download the redistributable directly from Microsoft : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387 and install it. Then try the MATLAB installation again. If that doesn't work, then call the Mathworks for FREE and fast help.

It's easy enough to try, but I have doubts. You may have to end up calling them tomorrow morning.

Go to the Contact Us link in the upper-right corner of mathworks.com. If necessary change the country/region using the dropdown menu. That will give you contact information for your local location or representative.

After you get it fixed, can you come back here and say what it took to fix it, in case others have the same problem?

Hey guys!
I am having issues installing MatLab R2021a on my Windows 10 notebook as once the unzipping process is completed, the installation window simply does not appear. I have tried multiple things, but I simply do not understand why the installation window would not even pop-up. Any help is well appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Did you see the other answers? Specifically the one with the FAQ
If you had done what it says in the FAQ 3 hours ago, you'd probably be up and running now. So did you call them? If not, why not??? Trust me, that's the fastest way to success. Or you can wait here for days in the hopes you'll get an answer different than the prior answers.
