Do i have to normalize the input as well as output data while using newff function for neural network?

i am using Matlab 7.8.0 (R2009a) version. when i want to use newff function do i need to normalize the data in [-1 1] interval or the function itself normalize the data.

NEWFF will automatically normalize input and target, then use the target statistics to unnormalize the output.

First run the examples in the command line documentation

 help newff

 doc newff

then use the other examples obtained from

 help nndatasets

 doc nndatasets.
