This is the problem in my book: Use MATLAB to find the angles corresponding to the following coordinates. a)(x,y)=(5,8) b)(x,y)=(-5,8) c)(x,y)=(5,-8) d)(x,y)=(-5,-8)

Ok, this is the problem in your book. What is your question and how can we assist you to find an answer?
Currently the posted problem is incomplete, because there is no unique correspondence between coordinates and angles. The metric and topology must be defined in addition, e.g. the corrdinates could be points on a sphere, or on a torus with non-rectangular base vectors, or on a hyperbolic plane. The angles could be measured between the connections of the points, or between the vectors from the origin to the points.
What exactly does "use MATLAB" mean? Is copying the solution from a MATLAB Ansers contributor valid?
