Cannot locate GCC/G++ compiler (Ubuntu)

hi, i have Matlab R2011b on Ubuntu 10.04. I am trying to use the Matlab Compiler. While I do have gcc/g++ 4.3 installed, it does not appear when i do teh mbuild -setup option. How can i correct this. (is there any specific path that matlab searches for the compiler?) any help would be appreciated. thank, db
