matlab on ubuntu 16.10 - nothing happening after installation

1 view (last 30 days)
i have just installed matlab 2016 on a macbookpro running ubuntu 16.10. Apparently, the installation and activation were succesful, but after installation nothing happens. There is no way to actually launch matlab, neither via terminal (what command to call? "matlab" doesnt work...) nor via the launcher (there are no icons, or any apparent way to call the application). Also, none of the files in the matlab folder actually launches matlab
How is this supposed to work? There is no information at all on the installation readme or any other of the help files (which don't really contain anything helpful)

Nothing on that link worked. Lile I said, calling "matlab" from terminal does nothing (Other than saying that such command doesn't exist. Same result after invoking the command directly from the folder where matlab is supposed to be installed)
