Help explain a code

Can someone help explain a portion of a code? I understand that strcmp is comparing two items, but within the whole structure of the coding the variables its calling I do not find nor can I find help on some of the other portions of the code. Example, the usage of @ for @(string)and @(cell_contents).
cellfind = @(string)(@(cell_contents)(strcmp(string,cell_contents)));
idx1 = find(cellfun(cellfind(symbol),u));

The @ syntax is used for variable input arguments to a function handle as a placeholder for when the real argument gets passed in.
