Dear all,
I want to use a program named SIRENE which is use to construct gene networks and is implemented in matlab version 7.5.0. Do you know whether this program is implemented in other matlab versions or only in 7.5? If it is only in version 7.5.0, then I have to download this version. Could you tell me where I can get it?
Best regards,
Yeping Sun

I don't know about SIRENE, but you can download MATLAB 7.5.0 (R2007b) from the following link.
After login to MathWorks account, choose the R2007b.

the following warning appears
To download products and updates, link a license to your MathWorks Account.
Visit the license center to link to a license.
When following the link the following appears
License Number* or Activation Key
Link License
Type 'license' at the MATLAB prompt to get your license number or get an activation key from your MATLAB administrator.
When keying in the word "license" I'm sent back to obtain a license https://www.mathworks.com/licensecenter/licenses/add
which I don't have.
All I want to do is to download this 13 year old software to learn the rudiments of Matlab's graphing capabilites.
How can I download (not for trial) this outdated software?

Dov Nardi:
  • you can purchase a license, possibly a student license if you are eligible, or a Home license (under some conditions); or
  • you can win one of Mathworks' contests; or
  • you can get a job or internship with Mathworks; or
  • you could buy a copy of the Prentice Hall book about MATLAB, which had a version around 5.3 or so; or
  • in a few countries (Germany and Norway and possibly a couple of others, but not many) you could buy a used copy of MATLAB from someone; or
  • you could buy the entire assets of a company that has an existing license
The only "free" version is winning a contest, and it is difficult to win one of those contests without an existing copy of MATLAB to develop on.
