How to skeletonize the image attached using bwmorph?

I got different output what i didn't expect?

The following script creates the attached skeletonized image. Could you tell us more detail on what's wrong with it?
BW = imread('vari.png');
BW2 = bwmorph(BW,'skel',Inf);
imshow(BW2)
